‘Miss Conception’ on DVD

First Look Studios proudly announces the DVD release of MISS CONCEPTION. Written by Camilla Leslie and directed by Eric Styles, MISS CONCEPTION follows baby-crazed Georgina Scott (Heather Graham, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me) as she races against her ticking biological clock to conceive a child through unconventional, but comedic methods. The DVD is in stores August 5, 2008 at an SRP of $24.98.

Georgina Scott is a broody 33 year-old, who sends her boyfriend, Zak, (Tom Ellis) packing when it has become apparent that he doesn’t share her desire for a bundle of joy. Zak sets off on a documentary shoot in hopes that she’ll cool off in his absence. But Georgina discovers that early menopause runs in her family and heads for a specialist with her reluctant best friend, Clem (Mia Kirshner, “The L Word”), in tow. Learning that her baby making days are numbered, Georgina enlists Clem and their camp pal, Justin (Orlando Seale), to make the most of it. A battle plan is drawn up but their escapades become increasingly frantic as Georgina explores internet sperm donors, night clubbers, a love struck co-worker and funeral-goers in her desperate and hilarious attempts to beat the biological clock.

A little update

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. My personal life is super hectic right now and I’ve recently had to deal with some computer issues as well.

I updated the video archive earlier today with videos from Mia’s appearance in  “Road to Avonlea” as well as some clips from “The L Word” Seasons 4 and 5 and ‘Miss Conception’. Look for even more new clips to be added soon. :)

New layout and new streaming media archive

As you can see there’s a gorgeous new layout here designed by my lovely friend Dora. I hope you will all love it as much as I do. I’ve also finished shifting all the videos over to the new streaming media archive and it is now open to the public. I’ve got a ton of new videos to add, so look for a lot of new stuff to be added over the coming weeks. :)

Streaming media

Thank you for your feedback regarding the streaming media option I recently proposed. Because quite a few of you were interested in this, I am currently working on shifting all the current videos over to the new streaming media archive, which will be opened very soon. Please note that I will need to remove the current zip files in the video archive when the shift is complete in order to conserve server space, so if you need/want any of the current zip files, please download them within the next couple days. :)

SheKnows ‘Miss Conception’ clip

This is the first film clip I’ve seen that features Mia, so I thought I’d post it here for you guys. I know the film hasn’t gotten the greatest reviews ever, but Mia and Heather look utterly adorable and I’m excited to see them in a project together. :)

Streaming media question

I would like some feedback from you guys about the possibility of me launching a streaming video archive here similar to what I’ve done here for my Charlize Theron site. A streaming media archive would replace the zip download files currently displayed here and would allow for me to update with new videos much easier and faster. The main reason I haven’t added any of the new videos I currently have sitting on my computer that need to be added is that it takes forever to go through all the processes of getting the video ready to be added and then adding it and all the info as well. With the streaming media archive, most of the steps are cut out because I can pretty much do everything within the program and don’t have to jump back and forth between various processes.

If this is something you would be interested in, please comment below or email me with your thoughts. I would like as much feedback from as many of you as possible because this would be something that would initially take me a while to work on because of the sheer number of videos to be added and I don’t want to jump into such a project without some feedback first. Thanks in advance.

‘Miss Conception’ HD trailer captures

I finally had a chance to download and cap Mia’s scenes in the HD version of the ‘Miss Conception’ trailer and they can all be viewed here. The HD trailer is available here via Apple if you haven’t had an opportunity to check it out yet. :)

PS: I truly hope they’ve fixed the spelling of Mia’s last name in the credits when the film hits theaters. That’s really awful that its spelled incorrectly in the trailer and in such large letters at that.

New fan art, photoshoot and event images

The following new images have been added to the media archive. More coming soon!

Von Dutch Originals & Operation USA’s Awareness Event For Burma - May 16, 2008 (x2 - thanks to Mariana)
Photoshoot #30 - Please log in to view (x7 - thanks to Johanna)
Fan Art (x3 - thanks to Wayne & Juggs)

Site information update

As you may have noticed, I re-coded the entire site in an effort to spruce things up a bit. I think it looks much nicer and more organized and hope you guys will like it. I also finally got all of the film pages back online. Sorry it took so long to do that, but it takes forever to re-code film pages because of all of the information to be updated. Please let me know if I overlooked something and I’ll fix it ASAP.

New images from ‘Miss Conception’ were added earlier today as well and can be viewed here. Enjoy!

Mia in Diva magazine

Mia is featured in the May 2008 issue of Diva magazine (see excerpt below). I’ll be adding some scans that Mifunes sent in a little later today. :)

diva-may-20081.jpgMia Kirshner: Jenny’s nice sideAs The L Word’s author Jenny Schecter, she’s the girl we love to hate. But as DIVA found out, off-screen Mia Kirshner is her character’s antithesis. Interview by IVANA SLOANE

Let’s face it, poor old Jenny didn’t have much going for her from the start. After she broke the lovely Marina’s heart – and lied about cheating on her boyfriend, Tim – in Season One, she decided she’d become an author, and got all pretentious.

In Season Four we watched our troubled heroine wreak revenge on a literary critic by seducing her veterinarian girlfriend. Don’t get us started on the dog she adopted and had put down by the vet in question. Put simply, Schecter is no people-pleaser, and it’s precisely because of this that actress Mia Kirshner is drawn to her.

Kirshner positively laps up the challenge of playing the most hated lesbian character since Vinegar Tits on Prisoner: Cell Block H, and for that we salute her. But there’s more: when she’s not busy on the set in Vancouver, Mia is working on a book to raise awareness of misplaced peoples from the Far East, the profits from which she plans to donate to Amnesty International. When we asked her her favourite charity, in a heartbeat she told us it was Médecins Sans Frontièrs. So big up to Ms Mia: feminist, philanthropist and cover star.

Scan help

Mifunes recently emailed me and mentioned that Mia is supposed to be featured in the March 2008 issue of Vogue, but neither of us are sure of which country’s Vogue this might be. I’ve looked in the US one, have searched eBay and Google as well, but have yet to find out if this the correct issue or from what country it might be. If any of you know and could either let me know which version to look for or send in scans (full credit will be given), I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. :)
