Synopsis
Broody Georgina Scott (33) is delighted to discover her sister-in-law has had her new baby. Her boyfriend Zak, however, doesn’t share this enthusiasm. He’s far more occupied with his new documentary series, exploring life on British islands.
When Georgina is out shopping for the new arrival, her mum casually mentions that early menopause runs in the family. Georgina starts to panic. Accompanied by her best friend Clem, Georgina visits Dr Dupont’s clinic, a respected fertility specialist. The Doctor reassures Georgina she probably has nothing to worry about, but runs a number of tests on her.
While Georgina waits for the results, she visits the new baby with Zak, who aptly demonstrates his utter disinterest in children. Things come to a head on the way home and Georgina breaks up with Zak, telling him she’ll get a baby from someone else if he’s not interested.
As Zak bunks in with his mate Ben, he’s sure everything will blow over by the time he’s back from the west coast of Ireland in three weeks. Ben warns him not to take Georgina for granted.
Georgina gets a surprise call from Dupont’s clinic, and to her horror discovers she has only one chance left to get pregnant and just two weeks to get ready. Poor Georgina is distraught, and her friends Clem and the hapless gay Justin don’t really understand how desperate she feels.
Georgina tries to get hold of Zak, but is fended off by the conniving Alexandra – a jumped up PA who wanted to get her talons into Zak.
Thinking that she no real choice, aided and abetted by Clem and Justin, Georgina starts to plan how she’s going to get pregnant, by Buying Borrowing or Stealing if necessary! Georgina’s escapades become more frantic and elaborate as she explores Internet sperm, nightclubs, gate-crashing a funeral, in her desperate and hilarious quest.
