‘Vampire Diaries’ Teases Elena’s Mom Episode

Mia Kirshner will re-enter “The Vampire Diaries” scene bigger than before. After it was revealed in earlier episode of the hit series that Kirshner’s Isobel is Elena’s birth mother, writers decide to go full length in exploring the story of this family tie.
In fact, The CW has specially made a poster that highlights both Elena and Isobel under the tagline “connected to her mother by blood, not love”. Released via E! Online, the art is to promote the May 6 episode which is aptly called “Isobel”. According to E!, Isobel will shock her ex-husband Alaric when she cruises back into town and demands a meeting with the daughter she fought so hard to keep away, Elena.
A source said the mother-daughter reunion will not be all pretty and sweet. The story arc will lead to the season finale on May 13, but Isobel will first re-appear on the show’s April 29 episode.

I updated the gallery this morning with HD screencaps of Mia’s performance in episode 1.15 A Few Good Men. In addition to the new screencaps, I also recently added some additional stills from the upcoming episode Isobel. Now that I’ve actually seen the show from the beginning and understand what’s going on and what role Mia plays in everything, I’m quite excited about the next few episodes. I can’t believe I didn’t start watching this from the get-go because it’s quite a fun show once you get a couple of episodes in. Enjoy the new additions.

I finally had a chance to cap Mia’s brief scenes in episodes 1.11 and 1.12 The Vampire Diaries episodes. Her appearance in episode 1.12 was actually in the episode recap at the beginning, but it was a variation on the scene from 1.11. I also added 1 episode still, but I’m not sure if it’s from a cut scene or from a future episode she might appear in. Enjoy the new additions.

I’ve just updated the gallery with screencaps of Mia’s appearance in episode 6.04 of CSI: NY. She was great as always and Rose Rollins even made an appearance in the episode. They weren’t in any scenes together, but it was neat to see them in the same ep nonetheless.

Operation USA fund raising event
Posted on: April 21, 2009 | Filed under: Gallery Updates, I Live Here, Public Appearances | 2 Comments
This event was originally scheduled for tomorrow (April 22), but it’s been postponed until June 11, so now there’s time for you guys to make some plans if you’d like to attend. Thanks to Susan for the info.
Press Release from opusa.org:
Actress/author Mia Kirshner (THE L WORD, THE BLACK DAHLIA) and author James MacKinnon have joined forces with international relief agency Operation USA to bring creative writing field projects inspired by their acclaimed book, I Live Here to communities in need around the world. The program will launch in Malawi, Africa, with Kirshner and MacKinnon returning to work in the Kachere Juvenile Centre in Lilongwe, the boys prison documented in the 2008 book.
Malawi is one of the world’s poorest countries, with an HIV/AIDS rate of nearly twenty percent. I LIVE HERE is a creative writing, literacy and livelihood program that will work inside the Kachere Juvenile Centre – working to bring hope to children that have little reason to think their lives can improve.
“When visiting the youth prison in Lilongwe, I saw the extreme conditions that these kids live in. I saw that they are rapidly slipping through the cracks. What I saw is a cruel reality and gruesome future. One inmate wrote, “My goodness is my wisdom, is my strength is my future.” The impact of this leaves me no option but to do everything I can to help change the extremities that these children live under,” said Mia Kirshner.

The L Word 6.08 screencaps
Posted on: March 24, 2009 | Filed under: Gallery Updates, The L Word | 2 Comments
I updated the gallery over the weekend with screencaps of the final episode of The L Word. Of the world of suck it contained, it did have a few bright spots:
1. Mia looked absolutely gorgeous. She wore some of the most adorable dresses and skirts and she looked fantastic in every scene, especially in this dress. I want one!
2. The video cameos of Tim, Angus, Ivan and Carmen. It was nice for them to say their little goodbyes to the girls, the fans and the show. I shall attempt to forget that they were all written to be great big a-holes at various points in time and focus on the awesomeness that they contributed during their time on the show.
3. Lucy Lawless!
And that’s pretty much it. I wish I could be more positive or say something else nice about it, but there’s just nothing.
Best of luck to the cast with all of their future endeavors!
The L Word caps

Screencaps of episodes 6.06 and 6.07 are now available in the gallery. I added 6.04 and 6.05 a few weeks ago, but forgot to post about them. I’m sure most of you have seen them by now anyway.
I’ll have caps from episode 6.08 added very soon as well. Aside from having zero time to work on web things lately, it’s really hard to find the motivation to cap this season because it, well, sucks. There’s no nice way of putting it and I’m sure most of you probably feel the same way. I’m just glad it’s over now so all of the talented leading ladies of the show can move on to more quality projects.
