TIFF 2011: ’388 Arletta Avenue’ First Reviews
Posted on: September 12, 2011 | Filed under: 388 Arletta Avenue | 0 Comments
Well, apparently none of the main actors for 388 Arletta Avenue attended this year’s Toronto Festival. Nick Stahl has said a while ago that he won’t be attending due family issues. And no word at all was said at Devon Sawa or Mia’s Twitter. Sadly, I was hoping for some new Mia appearance.
But the first reviews has started to pop:
388 Arletta Avenue also takes some fairly illogical twists and turns, and James, the film’s main protagonist, makes some pretty insipid decisions merely to move the film forward, which is disappointing considering the film had the potential of being far more witty than the more recent handheld horror offerings as of late.
Despite the film’s transparent shortcomings, 388 Arletta Avenue is still a solid Canadian horror indie that has a simple premise that delivers the goods. The film’s flaws will bother any true horror fan; however, the appropriately harrowing denouement will not disappoint even the most jaded of viewers. [Read More]
The overhall on Twitter is also good. Can’t wait to see it!
TIFF 2011: 388 Arletta Avenue

388 Arletta Avenue will be premiering at Toronto Film Festival (Screening will be next September 11 and 12), and DreadCentral has posted a new teaser sheet for the movie. It had a trailer too, but it had to be removed.

Synopsis
Shot from the point of view of hidden cameras, the film follows a thirty-something couple, James and Amy Deakin, as they are secretly videotaped 24/7 by a mysterious stalker in their home, on the streets, and at their workplace. The stalker uses information gleaned from the footage to subtly manipulate the unsuspecting couple, and cracks in their relationship surface. When Amy suddenly vanishes, James is not sure whether she has been abducted or has simply left him. As the acts of the tormentor become more twisted and violent, James desperately tries to figure out who is behind the terror in order to save his wife. But it seems the stalker is always one move ahead…“388 Arletta Avenue : ) is a wickedly smart mystery-thriller,” says executive producer Vincenzo Natali. “And it’s a story that could not have existed until recently, thanks to the astonishing and invasive technology that is now widely available. The fact that it is possible makes it truly terrifying.”
“388 Arletta Avenue : ) plays with the notion that if you could scratch to beneath the surface of what most supposedly ordinary people present to the world, and even to themselves, you would find very interesting and possibly very dark things,” says Randall Cole. “If exploited, some of those things could even result in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, as it does for our lead character.
Let’s hope the trailer surfaces online soon.

Howdy, Mia fans! My name is Luciana and I’m your new webmistress. I would like to thanks Stef for the opportunity of running Mia Online, which is a site that I’ve been following since its opening.
You may know me from some of my other sites, as Winona Forever or Amy Adams Fan. I’ll be doing some major check to see what needs to be updated here, but Stef’s work was awesome and major changes won’t be done. See ya!
