Mia to star in 388 Arletta Avenue

Posted on: December 01, 2010 | Filed under: 388 Arletta Avenue, Film News | 0 Comments

Shock first told you about the Vincenzo Natali-produced 388 Arletta Avenue during our American Film Market coverage, providing you with some early sales artwork. Today, we’ve received an official release. Read on for casting news and more:

Principal photography has begun on 388 Arletta Avenue, an unsettling Hitchcockian thriller written and directed by Randall Cole (Real Time, 19 Months). The film stars Nick Stahl (Sin City, Carnivale, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines), Mia Kirshner (Vampire Diaries, L Word, The Black Dhalia) and Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Nikita). Executive producer Vincenzo Natali (Splice, Cube), produced by Steve Hoban (Splice, Ginger Snaps, Ryan) and Mark Smith (The Spine, Ryan).

388 Arletta Avenue is filming in Toronto and will be a 2011 release in Canada by eOne Films Canada, in the UK by Optimum Releasing and worldwide sales are being handled by TF1 International.

“388 Arletta Avenue : ) is a wickedly smart mystery-thriller,” says executive producer Vincenzo Natali. “And it’s a story that could not have existed until recently, thanks to the astonishing and invasive technology that is now widely available. The fact that it is possible makes it truly terrifying.”

“388 Arletta Avenue : ) plays with the notion that if you could scratch to beneath the surface of what most supposedly ordinary people present to the world, and even to themselves, you would find very interesting and possibly very dark things,” says Randall Cole. “If exploited, some of those things could even result in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, as it does for our lead character.”

War of the Worlds – ‘The 2nd Invasion’ Comes to DVD At Last with the 2nd and Final Season

Posted on: August 16, 2010 | Filed under: Television News, War of the Worlds | 0 Comments

WAR OF THE WORLDS, the action-packed, science-fiction television series (a follow-up to the original classic film!) returns to DVD with The Final Season. This science-fiction series focuses on Dr. Harrison Blackwood’s team of resistance fighters, who seek out scattered groups of aliens and foil their attempts to trigger world panic and widespread destruction. 5-disc set includes all 20 final season episodes. Guest Appearances by Jill Hennessy (TV’s Crossing Jordan), Colm Feore (Chicago, Changeling), Mia Kirshner (TV’s The L Word).

Five years after CBS/Paramount released the first season DVDs, the studio is finally finishing what they began (and rewarding patient fans) with an October 26th release of War of the Worlds – The 2nd and Final Season. This 5-DVD package starring Jared Martin (Dallas), Adrian Paul (Highlander: The Series), Lynda Mason Green (Night Heat), and Rachel Blanchard (TV’s Clueless) is presented in the original full-screen video format, with English stereo sound. No bonus material is expected to be included.

Click here to view the photo of the poster Mia’s co-star Diora Baird posted via Twitter. Unfortunately it’s not the most flattering or professional looking poster I’ve ever seen, but hey, at least it features Mia. Let’s just hope the cover art on the DVD looks a bit better.

The sequel to 2008′s 30 Days of Night, 30 Days of Night: Dark Days, has a DVD and Blu-Ray debut date of October 5.

At this time, we don’t have cover art, however, we know the special features include a filmmaker commentary, a PS3 wallpaper theme, Vampires Exist: The Gritty Realism of Dark Days featurette, and as a Blu-Ray exclusive, Graphic Inspirations: Comic to Film featurette.

Directed by Ben Ketai and co-written by Ketai and Steve Niles, the sequel picks up in Los Angeles where Stella, survivor of 30 Days of Night, played by Kiele Sanchez, is hunting vamps.
